FEDERAL BAR ASSOCIATION
The Federal Bar Association (FBA) has more
than 16,000 members. It was founded in 1920 to
advance the science of JURISPRUDENCE and pro-
mote the administration of justice; to uphold a
high standard for the federal judiciary, attorneys
representing the U.S. government, and attorneys
appearing before the courts, agencies, and
departments of the United States; to encourage
friendly relations among members of the legal
profession; and to promote the welfare of attor-
neys. CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION and pro-
fessional and community services are among
association activities. FBA is affiliated with the
National Lawyers Club and the Foundation of
the Federal Bar Association. Publications
include Federal Bar News (monthly), a monthly
placement newsletter, Federal Bar Journal (quar-
terly), and Legislative Update. The association
holds annual meetings in late summer.
The FBA gives its members a chance to meet
at regional and national conferences, become
active in informed discussion of SUBSTANTIVE
LAW issues, assume leadership positions at the
local and national level, and network with other
