What, exactly, is meant by Certified Translation?
We are regularly asked for “certified”, “official” or “legal” or “sworn” translations. For many individuals requesting the service, it is the first time that they have come across these terms and, as such, need to more fully understand what is being requested of them.
As a starter, you should always ensure that you verify the type of legalization required for your translated documents prior to authorizing the work. This is because the level of legalization varies depending on the nature of the document and the purpose for which it is being translated and legalized.
Simply put, a certified translation is the translation of a document which is typically required for official use by a non-governmental organization. These translations are usually required to be certified by institutions such as universities, schools, insurance providers or potential employers.
Examples of documents which may fall into this category include:
- Birth, marriage, divorce or academic certificates
- Official school transcripts, work records, or medical reports
- Regulatory documents such as power of attorney, contracts, etc.
- Household bills
We will translate these documents, notarize them and return them with a certificate which confirms that they have been translated by a qualified professional translator, verifying that we believe them to be accurate and ‘true’ translations.
Again, we offer certified translation services in all commercial languages. Our translated documents are guaranteed to be accepted for legal purposes throughout the USA (Embassies, Courts, ICE/Immigration, schools and universities) and Europe (Apostile).
NOTE: Apostille is a French word which means a certification. It is commonly used in English to refer to the legalization of a document for international use under the terms of the 1961 Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement for legalization for Foreign Public Documents. A document that has been certified with a conformant apostile is accepted for legal use in all the nations that have signed the Hague Convention. It is comparable to a notarization.
Documents that have to be used for legal purposes overseas have to be apostiled. For this service, please email or upload your documents that have to be appostiled and let us know which country you will be using these documents for.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the process take?
——–On the average, most documents can be translated with a pace of 7-9 pages a day. “A page” in the kingdom of Linguistics is a set of 250 words and it makes no difference how many “true” pages your .pdf or .doc document consists of. Larger projects or multiple certificates are completed as quickly as possible. We will inform you about your delivery date soon after you confirm your project order. You will also be notified on order status during the process.
Are your translations notarized?
——–Should you request a notarized translation, then “Yes.”
How do I send you a copy of my document?
——–After you send your project order, you are invited to email or fax it to us.
Can I get a PDF copy of my certified translation?
——–We offer a PDF copy for a nominal charge that you can order by specifying your request in written e-mail form.
Do you offer faster mail service?
——–Yes, you may order FedEx “priority overnight service” for an additional charge.
Do you prepare certified translations from English into other languages?
——–We offer a certified translation in at least 10 languages – English, Russian, Spanish, Italian, German, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, French, and Flemish. If you want a certified translation from one of those into any other language, you may either:
1) contact the consulate of the country for which you need the translation, and they will assist you in contacting a sworn translator in their country, or
2) give us time (24-72 hours) to locate a sworn translator on the needed language’s domain.
Do you provide equivalency of foreign school grades and coursework?
——–Well, to be perfectly honest, we are not licensed to provide equivalency of foreign school grades and coursework. It is not completely clear if there is a global standard or a certification and, following from that, a company which is licensed throughout the planet.
1) our translation prices are significantly lower than the companies that do equivalency (if you can locate those), and
2) since we are all natives of different countries, we can seek assistance and, for a fee, provide you with equivalency.
How much does the service cost?
——–Please provide us with the target language and email either your document or an exact word count so we can calculate the cost. We offer the highest quality, low-cost certified translation services.
We promise we will put forth our best effort to deserve your trust and future business. After we have fully understood your technical requirements and reviewed your text, we will work with dedication to achieve accuracy and meet all deadlines.
